These Brie and Pear Crostini with Honey-Balsamic Glaze are lightly crisp crostini topped with creamy, melted brie, sliced pears and a perfectly balanced honey and balsamic glaze. The perfect appetizer for upcoming holiday parties, or any event!
Thanksgiving has passed, Christmas is fast approaching, and before we know it we’ll be closing out 2019 and welcoming 2020 and all that we hope for it to be. And with Christmas and New Year’s Eve gatherings coming up, that means menus are being planned and appetizers are in high-demand.
Well let me tell you friends, these Brie and Pear Crostini with Honey-Balsamic Glaze are delicious, elegant, and too easy not to make!
A baguette is sliced into 1/2″ slices, topped with creamy brie and baked, then topped with a pear slice and honey-balsamic glaze. Top it off with fresh thyme or rosemary, and you have an appetizer that will wow guests at any holiday gathering!
And these brie and pear crostini are so delicious, no one will believe how easy they are to make!
How to make Brie and Pear Crostini with Honey-Balsamic Glaze:
1.) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place the baguette slices on a large baking sheet. Place one or two slices of cheese on each baguette slice. Bake slices in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until the brie is melted and baguette is lightly browned and crisp.
2.) While the baguette slices are toasting, combine the honey and balsamic in small bowl. Mix until well combined. If you want it a little thicker, you can heat over low heat in a small saucepan for a few minutes and it will thicken. Or you can zap it in the microwave for a minute or two, let it cool, and it will thicken up.
3.) Top each baguette slice with a slice or two of pear, and drizzle with honey-balsamic sauce and garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary.
Pears seem to be the forgotten winter fruit. And I’ll admit, they aren’t the first one I think of, either. But that is so silly, because they are so stinkin’ delicious! And they pair perfectly with creamy brie and honey-balsamic glaze.
You know, if there are some extra slices left over, they are great just to eat by themselves, too! Oh, and let’s not forget about that honey-balsamic glaze. I may or may not have had a few spoonfuls of it, all on its own. Because, yum.
Everything about this Brie and Pear Crostini with Honey-Balsamic Glaze screams appetizer perfection. The crispy and creamy, sweet and tart, all together in each delectable bite.
Add them to your New Year’s Eve menu and bring in the new year in style!
