Sweet Musings: January 2019

January 30, 2019 by Jaida Leave a Comment

Well, this month really flew by, didn’t it?? January always seems to be a weird month, wouldn’t you agree? Everyone trying to get organized, healthy, on-track for whatever goal they have set for themselves personally or professionally; the weather is all over the place and can’t decide if it wants to be spring or winter. It’s utter chaos and insanity.

And it’s almost over. Maybe not the chaos and insanity, or the confused weather, but the first month of the new year is almost. over. I’m not sure why I find that to be somewhat of a relief. Perhaps because in my mind a new month, much like a new year, means the chance to start over, so-to-speak. Like, January was a trial month. A learning curve of sorts. I’ve felt overwhelmed and out-of-sorts quite a bit in January, so I’m glad to see it go. And I’m hopeful that February will bring more peace and contentment, all around.

I was just looking through my phone for pictures to add to this post, and realized I haven’t really taken any since December. I mean, there are a few mommy/Nat selfies, and food pics, but…that’s it. I really have been busy and out of it! I did make a lot of good food and have kept up with posting regularly, which was a goal of mine for 2019, so that has been a January success!

I should have taken a picture of our back yard from this past weekend. J drove back there to unload some fire wood, but it had rained the night before and our (1 acre) yard has a few slopes in it, and … you guessed it. The truck got stuck. And I mean really stuck. A couple of people with a 4×4 truck and a big, old tractor tried to pull him out to no avail, but the yard got a bunch of deep ruts in it. The next day a friend came over and was finally able to get him out, after literally pulling him all over the entire yard and then back out the gate they came in.

Yard. Destroyed. But, at least they got him out.

That’s a good way to look at this January. I may have gotten stuck in a rut, and torn up the yard a bit trying to get out, but I’m out, got the mud cleaned off, and ready to start the next month free and clear! Haha!

So, if you had a rough start to the new year, or you aren’t making the progress you’d hope for on the goals you may have set – don’t worry! Just dust yourself off and start fresh. Set your mind to what you want to do, and stay the course. You can succeed!!
