Hi friends! Are you ready for the first menu for August? I mean, are you ready for August, at all?? August means, the hottest month of the year, back to school, and the unofficial end to summer. None of those are exactly things to jump for joy about.
However, there are a couple of things that make me love August. The main one being my baby girl’s birthday! I can’t believe she will be THREE. How in the world is that even possible?!?
I am currently in the throes of planning her birthday party, which she decided she wanted to have at home. So…more convenient for me the day of, but a LOT more prep work to get the house ready for a party and a ton of people.
My birthday is also in August (8 days before baby girl’s), and while I’m really indifferent to my own birthdays, we have been going to the beach that weekend for two years, and that’s a nice break from everyday life.
And if that wasn’t enough, my Mama and my Grannie (as well as my niece, sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin) also have August birthdays!! My Grannie will be 90, y’all. I love that lady more than words can say and I can’t wait to celebrate her this weekend!
Meanwhile, I have to pull my head out of the party planning fog to, ya know, work and stuff. And menu plan and grocery shop. School starts back up next week and I am DREADING the start of hellacious traffic, again. It’s been a nice couple of months and I’m saddest to see the traffic again.
Summer is not actually over, though. At least not the weather, so that means another month (maybe two) of grilling and fun summer meals! Next week we head to the beach, I need to get to planning meals for that, too!

Monday – BBQ Chicken Salad
Tuesday – Citrus Steak Tacos with Chimichurri Sauce
Wednesday – Honey Garlic Salmon with Brussels Sprouts
Thursday – Crockpot BBQ Honey Venison Meatloaf, Roasted Broccoli, Mashed Potatoes
Friday – Grilled Nectarine Crostini
Saturday – Out of town for my Grannie’s 90th birthday party!
