Well, Texas weather has been on its usual roller coaster this past week. I mean, yesterday it was 86 degrees. In February. It’s insanity, I tell ya. And the coming forecast is all over the place as well. Cold for a couple of days, warm again on the weekend. It’s more often grilling weather on the weekends now than it is soup weather.
So, as you can see from the upcoming weekly menu plan, there’s a little more grilling than cold weather fare. This makes my husband happy, because any hint of a warm snap and he wants to grill. Menu be damned. I can’t complain too much, because I’m a little less inclined to be in the kitchen on the weekends, even though that’s when I have more time to be.
Also, I noticed when I was completing my weekly menu plan that there is more venison recipes than any other protein, combined. But hey, when you have a freezer full of meat, you take advantage! We love it. And it makes the week’s grocery bill quite a bit lighter. That always makes mama happy.
One of my favorite things about venison recipes is that they are so interchangeable with other meat. The ground meat recipes, especially. So, if you aren’t big on game meat, you can replace beef or your other preferred meat for it, and still have an amazing meal.
So, take a look at the upcoming weekly menu plan for some great recipe inspiration!
