If you’re looking for a summer drink with a kick, this Spicy Watermelon Margarita is where it’s at! Made with fresh watermelon and jalapeno-infused tequila, you can make it as spicy as you like!

spicy jalapeno margarita with watermelon and jalapenos skewers

Everyone loves a good, juicy, sweet watermelon during the summer, right? And so many of us love a good margarita to enjoy. Well, friends. I’ve taken two summer favorites and made a summertime smash. With a kick. Spicy Watermelon Margaritas. You read that right. Spicy. Granted, if you aren’t a fan, you can omit the jalapeno and just enjoy a watermelon margarita, but I highly recommend the spicy version.

I made my own jalapeno-infused tequila, which means you can control the level of heat based on how long you soak the jalapenos. A little bit of heat, a little bit of sweet, a whole lot of delicious. These will quickly become your go-to summer drink.

What ingredients do you need to make a Spicy Watermelon Margarita?

You only need a few (four!) ingredients!

Fresh, cubed watermelon
Limes
Simple syrup
Jalapeno-infused tequila

How do you make Jalapeno Infused Tequila?

2 cups of silver tequila + 1 jalapeno (halved or sliced), and soak for 2 hours to 24 hours. The longer you let the jalapenos sit, the spicier the tequila will be! Remove the jalapeno and strain out any seeds and it’s ready to use!

And, how do you make these spectacular Spicy Watermelon Margaritas??

Full Printable Recipe Below!

1.) Place watermelon cubes and lime juice in a blender and mix until smooth.
2.) Using a fine mesh strainer and a spatula, pour the watermelon puree through (into a bowl) and press down with the spatula to strain out any pulp. Discard pulp.
3.) Pour watermelon puree into a pitcher or back into the blender and add the simple syrup and jalapeno-infused tequila. Stir or blend to mix.
4.) Serve over ice, garnished with limes, jalapeno slices, and watermelon cubes, if desired.

This recipe will make about four 8-oz glasses, but you can easily double (or more!) this recipe to make a pitcher for a crowd! Or, you know, just for yourself. Just sayin’, I won’t judge. Also, something worth noting, this is one of those margaritas where you won’t taste the tequila, but it is definitely there. Drink responsibly!
