This Salted Caramel Spiced Hot Chocolate is the perfect drink to warm you up this winter!
The holidays have passed, but the cold weather has not, which means there is still plenty of time to enjoy warm beverages like this Salted Caramel Spiced Hot Chocolate!
I’ve spent most of my life drinking hot chocolate from a powder mix and hot water, as many of us have. And most of the time, I like that juuuust fine. But, it really doesn’t take much longer to make this homemade and it is much more rich and creamy. And, you can customize the flavors to what you like!
I told you awhile back that I’ve recently realized how much I love caramel. And salted caramel is just a whole ‘nother level of yum. So, I had to add some salted caramel sauce to this hot chocolate, which in it’s own right would have been absolutely perfect and amazing. But then I went and threw another flavor into the mix…cinnamon. Cinnamon chips to be exact. Oh. Mah. Gawsh. So over-the-top delicious, I wasn’t sure what to do with myself!
What it takes to make Salted Caramel Spiced Hot Chocolate
5 simple ingredients!
-Milk
-Semi-sweet chocolate chips
-Cinnamon chips
-Vanilla extract
-Salted caramel sauce
– Marshmallows or whipped cream for topping, optional
How to make Salted Caramel Spiced Hot Chocolate
Step 1
In a medium saucepan warm the milk over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the chocolate chips, cinnamon chips and caramel. Whisk constantly until chocolate has melted and the caramel is smooth.
Step 3
Pour in the vanilla extract and whisk to combine.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Step 4
Top with marshmallows or whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce, if desired.

Ingredients
- 4 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup cinnamon baking chips
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Toppings:
- Marshmallows or Whipped cream
- Salted caramel sauce
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan warm the milk over medium heat.
- Add the chocolate chips, cinnamon chips and caramel. Whisk constantly until chocolate has melted and the caramel is smooth.
- Pour in the vanilla extract and whisk to combine.
