Pretzel Ghosts

Pretzel Ghosts are an adorable, spooktacular, bite-sized Halloween treat perfect for all ages!

It would seem that I have a thing for dipped pretzels, apparently. I mean, can you blame me, though? It’s quick and easy, super versatile and customizable, and the end result is a delicious salty-sweet treat. Nat takes strawberry or vanilla yogurt covered pretzels in her lunch every. single. day. So, I knew she was going to love these. The candy eyes made her squeal she was so excited. And, you’re little ones will be, too!

And the best part? There are literally three ingredients. Pretzels, vanilla almond bark, and candy eyes. So super duper easy, you can even enlist the kiddos to help! And a little secret…it’s also really easy to turn these ghosts into mummies by just drizzling a little of the melted bark over the top! You’re welcome.

What you need to make Pretzel Ghosts

Mini pretzel twists
Vanilla almond bark (or white chocolate)
Candy eyes

How to make Pretzel Ghosts

Full printable recipe card below!

  1. Cover a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
  2. In a microwave safe, shallow bowl, melt almond bark or white chocolate according to package instructions. (Usually 60-90 seconds on high, stir, and then heat in 15 second increments until mostly melted. Stir until smooth.)
  3. Place pretzels, one at a time, into the melted chocolate and turn or dunk to coat. Use a fork to gently pick up and tap the handle gently on the bowl to knock of excess coating into the bowl. Lay gently on the wax paper, then place an eye candy in each of the top pretzel holes. Repeat with remaining pretzels and candy eyes.
  4. Place baking sheet of ghost pretzels in the fridge for 5-10 minutes to speed up the setting of the coating, then servce or store in an air-tight container until ready to serve, up to a week.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz vanilla almond bark (or white chocolate)
  • 36 mini pretzel twists
  • 64 medium sized candy eyes*

Instructions

  • Cover a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
  • In a microwave safe, shallow bowl, melt almond bark or white chocolate according to package instructions. (Usually 60-90 seconds on high, stir, and then heat in 15 second increments until mostly melted. Stir until smooth.)
  • Place pretzels, one at a time, into the melted chocolate and turn or dunk to coat. Use a fork to gently pick up and tap the handle gently on the bowl to knock of excess coating into the bowl. Lay gently on the wax paper, then place an eye candy in each of the top pretzel holes. Repeat with remaining pretzels and candy eyes.
  • Place baking sheet of pretzel ghosts in the fridge for 5-10 minutes to speed up the setting of the coating, then servce or store in an air-tight container until ready to serve, up to a week.

Notes

*I had intended to use the small candy eyes, but they were smaller than the holes in the pretzels and would just fall through, so I used the next size up and they fit pretty perfectly!
