These peach pie scones with maple glaze will brighten up your summer brunch or dessert table with a moist, peach filling and a sweet maple glaze.
This post and recipe was created for #SummerDessertWeek! I was sent samples by some of the sponsor companies but as always opinions are 100% my own.
There’s something about scones that has always been appealing to me. Maybe it’s because I have an affection for carbs in the morning. Or maybe because they are so versatile and they can be sweet or savory. I’ve made a few versions in the past, but these…these peach pie scones…are they breakfast? Are they dessert? Well friends, the answer is…they are both! In one amazing pastry.
The scones are moist, full of peaches, and aren’t overly sweet. The maple glaze is what gives them that extra kick of sweetness that makes these peach pie scones feel a little more on the dessert side.
Scones can sometimes be dry, it’s just a characteristic they carry. But these peach pie scones are far from dry. Did I mention they are full of peaches?? Juicy, sweet, summer peaches. You could use canned or frozen peaches, in a pinch, but I highly recommend using fresh, ripe peaches. You’ll get a better flavor and better texture with fresh peaches.
So whether you are looking for a scone to add to your breakfast or brunch table, or a new dessert item to serve friends and family, these peach pie scones are where it’s at.

Peach Pie Scones with Maple Glaze
Ingredients
For the Scones:
- 2 cups + 2 Tbsp all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed and cold
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, plus more for brushing
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh peaches, peeled and diced
For the Maple Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp maple extract (or pure maple syrup)
- 1-3 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
Instructions
To make the Scones:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with, silicone mat, foil, or parchment paper.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer*, using the paddle attachment on low speed, mix together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Once combined, add the butter and mix on medium speed until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream, sour cream, egg, and vanilla extract. Slowly add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined.
- Stir in the peaches, and mix until just combined.
- On a well-floured surface, turn out the scone dough and pat into a small disk that’s about a 1/2″ thick. Cut into 6-8 slices, and transfer to the baking sheet. Brush each scone with just a bit of heavy cream.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or just until golden brown. Allow to cool.
To make the Maple Glaze:
- Whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 Tbsp of heavy cream. If the glaze is too thick, continue adding in heavy cream, one 1 Tbsp at a time, until it has reached the desired consistency. Pour over warm scones and enjoy!
