If you’re looking for an appetizer for an upcoming holiday party that will wow your guests, this Cranberry Brie Bread Bowl is exactly what you need!

Ok guys, this Cranberry Brie Bread Bowl is a great way to use up leftover cranberry sauce, or to serve as an appetizer for holiday dinner! The bread bowl is crisp on the outside, with soft-on-the-inside, ready-made dipping pieces cut before it’s baked, and it’s filled with creamy, melted brie topped with a sweet and tangy cranberry sauce. It’s quick, easy, and impossible to resist!

While the bread is cut to be used as dippers, you can also serve crackers alongside if you’d like. I used a cranberry pistachio bread bowl, but sourdough, or most other varieties would be good as well. Just make sure it’s a round loaf!

And one of the best parts, besides how amazingly delicious it is? You only need a few simple ingredients to make it!

What you need to make a Cranberry Brie Bread Bowl

  • Wheel of brie – Triple creme melts the best, but use what you can find
  • Cranberry Orange Sauce – or you can use canned whole berry sauce
  • Fresh thyme
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

How to make a Cranberry Brie Bread Bowl

Full printable recipe card below!

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut off the top quarter of the bread bowl. Place the wheel of brie in the center and use a sharp knife to trace around the wheel of brie. Remove the brie and carefully tear out the circle of bread, making sure not to tear through the bottom of the bowl.
  3. Now, cut slices around the edge of the bread bowl about an inch and half, making sure not to cut all the way through to create your dipping pieces for later.
  4. Brush the bottom and inside of the bread with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and half of the thyme leaves. Place the brie in the middle and sprinkle with the remaining thyme leaves.
  5. Spoon the cranberry sauce over the top of the brie and then place the top of the bread over it.
  6. Place the bread bowl on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Once done, gently remove the bread top (if any cranberry sauce sticks to it, gently scrape it off with a spoon back onto the top of the brie. Serve immediately.
