Adorable Christmas Tree Krispie Treats are a festive treat that will really shine on your Christmas dessert table. And Santa loves them, too!
Ok friends, I know we all remember beloved Krispie Treats as kids. Whether store-bought or homemade, there’s just something about those gooey krisped rice treats that everyone seems to love. So, what better Christmas treat than Christmas Tree Krispie Treats?! They are festive and cute, and taste just as good as they always have. The kids will flock to them, and the adults won’t be able to resist, either!
I chose to use the holiday Krispie cereal that is red and green, but you can use regular rice krispies, just the same! You can use sprinkles and candies to add color and “ornaments” and customize to your liking. So many fun things you can do! You can also use different cookie cutters to make other holiday shapes, like stars, ornaments, stockings, and snowmen!

Step 1
Line a 9×9 (or 9×13 if you want thinner treats) banking pan with foil or wax paper and set aside.
Step 2
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat.
Step 3
Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Add green food coloring to achieve a dark green color. (I probably used half a small bottle, and it still wasn’t super dark. Use your own discretion with how much to use! It will lighten up some once the cereal is stirred in.)
Step 4
Pour cereal into the saucepan and stir until cereal is all coated with the marshmallow mixture. Use a spatula to push into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Set aside and allow to cool and firm up a bit before cutting.
Step 5
Carefully life the foil or wax paper from the baking pan and lay out on a cutting board or other safe surface for cutting.
Using your cookie cutter (or a knife) cut your Christmas tree shapes and set on a sheet of wax paper or other surface suitable for decorating.
Step 6
In a medium, microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate chips ifor 30 seconds on high, stir, then heat another 15 seconds if needed. Stir until smooth. Place in a piping bag with a narrow tip, or use a spoon to drizzle white chocolate over the top of the treats to look like garland.
Step 7
Decorate with sprinkles, placing on the melted chocolate so they will stick. Allow the chocolate to set and then you’re ready to serve or store in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.
